‘Our Soldier’s Home’ puts the focus on the soldier and the soldier’s family and is neither pro nor anti-war. With its reflective tone and timely relevance, the song’s intent is to gather the thoughts of each listener to a single place where we consider a family’s loss surrounding the “Highway of Heroes” phenomenon, while creating a bond between all listeners centered on our military. This simple song written by Phill Botting and Steve Fenton, produced by Bob Doidge at Grant Avenue Studios, re-directs the focus to the much more important train of thought, the Canadian soldier.
