Dulce Barbosa

A graduate of The Harris Institute For The Arts, Dulce completed both the Production/Engineering and Recording Arts Management courses giving her a diversified understanding of the Canadian music business.

Before forming dB Promotions & Publicity, Dulce gained invaluable experience working for management companies such as Noise Management (Bob Wiseman) and World Services (Melanie Doane, Universal Honey, The Gravelberries and John Bottomley). At the same time she formed her own management company “Manage DAT” where her very first clients were a very young Our Lady Peace.

Dulce’s promotional experience began with Linda Dawe at The Music Brokers where she cut her radio tracking teeth launching a then brand new artist by the name of Roch Voisine. From there, Dulce went on to work at various other radio promotion companies, mainly RDR Music Group and Ethan Russell Promotions before regrouping with Dawe once again at DiCesare Marketing to promote, amongst others, Roch Voisine’s second English album “I’ll Always Be There” and Larry Gowan’s “The Good Catches Up”.

In the mid nineties Dulce and Linda went into partnership as Music Solutions/dB Promotions. With the aid of her former marketing instructor at The Harris Institute, the late Scott Richards and colleague Roy Roberts, this partnership continued with the success of “Kissing Rain” the third English release from Roch Voisine. Other successes include: The EarthTONES, Carlos Morgan, Helmut Lotti Goes Classic I & II, Emma Shapplin, The Immigrants and the list goes on.
