This incredibly distinguished and mature voice belongs to 14 year old Brampton native, Adriana Lombardo.
Like so many talented performers before her, she was raised in a home alive with music of all varieties… her creativity and talent constantly embraced and encouraged. Her music and vocal style have been inspired by her favourite female performers including, Avril Lavigne, Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey.
Born of Indian descent, her interest in musical “flavors” drew her to diverse sounds from Jamaica to the Bronx. Within her family, her father enjoyed writing poetry, directing plays and composing songs in many different languages native to India; her mother studied and taught Sanskrit, a sacred language rich in poetry, music and philosophy. This deep “world view” laid the groundwork for what would become her sound.
Zameer and his musical mentor and elder brother, songwriter Ali Rizvi, started out doing cover gigs in their living room as children. They would play air guitar on tennis racquets and lip synch to Guns N’ Roses and Soundgarden tunes. A little over a decade later in 2007, the pair found themselves in a studio with 5-time Grammy-winning producer Steve Thompson, who mixed both Guns N’ Roses’ and Soundgarden’s debut albums.
